The Business of Art!
Even in art there is "business."  Stage space, renting costumes, and paying for professional services outside our core add up quickly.  It takes thousands of dollars per production, with the bulk of  funds recovered through ticket sales.  For years, the professional artists involved behind the scenes do not accept salaries for their work.
